Final moments for this lovebug named Daisy
ONLY A PUP. ALREADY ON MANHATTAN'S KILL LIST TODAY. IT IS BEYOND THE 11TH HOUR. A volunteer writes: Daisy is a pretty flower not the white one with a golden heart but a delicate ebony orchid with lively chesnut eyes. Daisy gets up timidly from her blankie when she sees me at her door, slightly cocking her head. She seems to ask: "Are you here for me?" Daisy is leashed easily and walks like a dream. She does not need to be tethered or be given treats to take pictures of her. She is very attuned to me and follows directions. What a pretty girl....Her coat is well groomed and shiny, she is trim and has lovely ears flying above her head. Daisy sits on command, comes right away when called and takes treats very delicately from my hand. She is curious of other dogs in a nice way and would like to play. She might be housetrained as she eliminated in the yard and the street on each of our outings. Daisy is as expected a wonderful lap dog who seems quite comfortable in my arms, enjoying kisses and hugs. . Poor baby! Rule Number One - be patient with (and a little smarter than) your new puppy.
I am heartbroken. I left for a new home a few weeks ago but sadly today I have been brought back because I keep having accidents in the house and they were not happy about it. I am a 2 year old staffy boy and originally came from the dog warden. I so wanted my own home and I am very sorry that I had these accidents - it was because I was stressed and confused about all the changes in my life. Please can someone come to adopt me who wants a happy, loving staffy and who will give me the time to feel safe and secure in my new home? Please, please, please do not let me sit here for ages just because there are so many staffies like me in rescue, I promise to try to be a good boy xxxx

Saved from the streets in May of 2013, Astro did well his first few months in the shelter- but after 8 months, shelter stress has affected him...he's lost weight, he spins in his cage, and he's gone ''cage crazy'' in the shelter. No one knows his story, or where he is from- but one thing is painfully clear- he's desperate for love, he lives to please, and he'd like another dog...to play with. Yes, he's fine with other dogs, and he longs for human and canine companionship, and once out of the cage, he settles down nicely- and all this boy needs...is love.
Let's get Astro out of the shelter, and share him widely. And let's find Astro...his angel.
Astro has been cat tested, and he is not interested in cats- as with any animal, we recommend slow and proper introductions.

Meet CHARLEY! Charley is 13 month old female German Shepherd of import lines
She was given up by her family when their poodle was injured during a fight over food. Prior to her family giving her up, she had surgery to her hip/femur due to some sort of injury when she was 6 months old. She is a very sweet and loving dog that needs a home with an active GSD savvy owner who can channel her energy and build her confidence in new environments that are scary to her.
She loves to swim and run on trails. She plays well with other friendly dogs and will need a buddy in her new home- preferably with an alpha shepherd. She likes children but we are looking for an adult home that will have lots of time to spend with her.
Charley comes with obedience group weekend group classes in the Inland Empire. If you are interested in adopting Charley:

No answers: Jerky treats back in stores as pet mystery lingers
Zoe, a 3-year-old pit bull mix, was recently was diagnosed with Fanconi syndrome, a rare illness in dogs that has been linked to pet jerky treats made in China.

To All Cat Owners in Carteret, NJ- Feral cats and cats residing outdoors that are being taken care of by people, are being victimized by a cat hater who resides in the area. Cats are being poisoned, they are being shot by pellets, and the populations is diminishing. Associated Humane Societies has already started an investigation and cats are being necropsied. He is wearing a black collar with tags that have my name and number and he is also microchipped via the Nebraska Border Collie Rescue.
